Abiding by the committed mission of PhotoMuse to make venues for learning and promoting culture and history , we are all set to begin a series of motion-picture documentaries on ‘The Oral Tradition & Culture’ of our country. The power of photography in documenting art & culture and the vision of PhotoMuse in promoting it combine to form an historic effort to document the mostly-neglected oral tradition of the land. Ages have its own proof to show that the songs that were sung and the stories that were told hold power to enrich the culture of by-gone generations. Let’s join hands to pass that rich tradition on to our children! Much have been forgotten. As much have been lost in oblivion. The elders – the treasure houses – may fade away any time and we can’t afford to wait for long. If we do not do it now, no one else may do it either.
You can support us by
1. Taking part in documentary production – find the elders in your locality who may know folk songs, lullabies, fables, unwritten history and anything that you think is worth documenting for the next generation; make full-HD videos with reasonable sound quality using your video cam or SLR camera fixed on a tripod; send those files to PhotoMuse for editing and preserving – all in your name. You will be properly credited for all your hard work. PhotoMuse will not hold the copyright – community will be the copyrights holder! All such documentaries will be available for free distribution and use.
2. Our staff and volunteers are over-working. We are operating with meagre financial resources. If you think the project is worth continuing, do consider donating to the production fund. (contact any one of the PhotoMuse team). We sincerely thank all those who have already extended support.
We are not late. We can’t be.
