A group Show of Contemporary Indian Photography
(Edition II)
Curatorial Note
This is a body of photographs compiled from an open forum in one of internet’s socializing sites. Pictures were posted in the forum under no specific theme, no specific suggestions and no specific intentions. Different photographers post pictures that fall under different genres, made in different periods of Time, in different places, with dissimilar intentions. In the first place, I was baffled at the diversity of themes, but, to my amazement, I was caught at the fact that there was a distinctive character to most of the significant images – the very eclecticism and disparateness that built a unique connection among them. Every image seems to enjoy the freedom of being noncommittal to an imposed theme, all the while being bonded together by a mission to interpret different human conditions and experiences in their own way. All had open origins. All have open ends.
This show is an outcome of the efforts by PhotoMuse – The Museum of Photography to showcase the best of talents in photography while creating a platform to initiate an intensive dialogue on contemporary photographic practices among the upcoming as well as established artists.
