The central theme of Nilaa Krishnan’s art is the innocent colors of the childhood imaginations. It is expressed through a range of abstract compositions that defy the usual perceptions of meaning. This weightlessness of his abstractions is rendered by the absence of the notions of comprehensiveness, and, it resembles the careless strolls of the childhood itself. Immediately perceivable is the freedom of hands which are unhindered by the ropes of the theory.
