MY INDIA Photography Exhibition is an ambitious project by the Better Art Foundation and the PhotoMuse Museum for building a digital archive of photographs about India as it enters the 75th anniversary of Independence. It is conceived as a program for the archive building and a juried, long-running digital and physical exhibition of photography. Any individual of any nationality and age may submit digital photographs about India – its landscape, people, culture and nature – photographed in any year and made with any equipment including mobile phones. The selected images will be systematically archived in the PhotoMuse Museum as INDIA PHOTO ARCHIVE and the best of it will be featured in the exhibition as well. The submission begins on August 15, 2022, runs through 75 days ends and ends on October 28, 2022. The donations by the participants support the Infrastructure Fund of PhotoMuse Museum. All donations are tax exempt u/s 80G and 12A.
All participants get a Certificate of Participation. All selected photographers are awarded with Museum Collection Certificates. If more than ten pictures by a photographer have been selected to the archive/exhibition, a Significant Contributor Certificate will be awarded. Ten contributors with the highest number of selections are also awarded with PhotoMuse Achievement Medal. The selected photographers are entitled to use the following citation in their bio-data/CV: “My photographs are collected and archived in the India Photo Archive of PhotoMuse-The Museum of Photography, Kerala, India, in 2022.”
The Best of My India submissions will be shown in a long-running online exhibition and later a print exhibition titled ‘My India’ organized by PhotoMuse.
Salient Features:
- An eminent panel of photographers will choose photographs suitable for the archive, judging on how well the image represents the character of India with its landscape, people, heritage, culture and natural treasures. The jury may select any number of images if they think they are worth exhibiting.
- You may submit a single or series of images. There is an option for detailed captioning or statements also. But it is not compulsory. It is compulsory to identify the place and the year of the photograph either in the title or in the description. If you can identify the people/animals/structures in the picture, that will be greatly helpful. Since this is a documentary project, it will be unethical to make any alterations in the content of the photograph. So please send the original photograph as it is. Minor cropping and global corrections of color temperature and contrast to reach as close as reality are permissible.
- The copyright of the photographs remains with the photographer. PhotoMuse holds only the rights to archive, and to use for educational and research purposes with due credits to the photographer. PhotoMuse cannot use it for any business activities or sales digitally or as prints.

- Any digital photograph made with any digital camera or mobile phone can be submitted.

- THERE IS ONLY ONE CONDITION – THE PHOTO HAS TO BE YOUR OWN CREATION and you have to be the copyright owner. The Better Art Foundation or PhotoMuse holds no responsibility in such instances.
- Anyone who donates Rs.500 or more to PhotoMuse Museum Fund is eligible to submit any number of photographs.
